A little about me

I am a digital artist from North Somerset who graduated from the University of Northampton with a degree in Game Arts. However, I decided during my last year that while I was good at it, game art was not for me. So, in the years after I went into retail first in a large supermarket chain and then in a small organic food store. Sadly, the store I worked in had to close but seeing how they ran the business inspired me to try starting my own.

What starts as a hobby

According to my late Grandmother Helen Phipps, the only thing I would play with was a pencil when I was a toddler. Apparently, when she tried to take the pencil away I would start crying my eyes out until they gave it back. I do question this story, but at the same time, you have to admit it is a pretty good artist origin story.

Art has always been an escape for me, much to the frustration of my teachers who would see my school books filled with drawings rather than notes. Even today, I am constantly doodling on something on the side of my desk.

I moved from traditional to digital art around 9 years ago when I first started my degree and fell in love with my graphics tablet. During this time I started doing commissions of characters for various tabletop games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder and SW5E. The picture on the left is of my SW5E character, Naharii.

I had always considered selling my art in the form of stickers and other goods, but it was losing my job at Earthfare Portishead that really pushed me. With the support of my family and most importantly Harley@Cowscreations, I was finally able to give it a shot!
